Miss Africa GB Leila Visits Orphanage in Bissau

Published • 14 June 2019

Leila Samati, Miss Africa Great Britain 2018, travelled to Guinea Bissau as part of her official charity mission, continuing the pageant's commitment to supporting disadvantaged communities through practical action.

During her visit, Leila spent time with children at the Casa De Acolhimento Bambaran Orphanage, meeting staff and residents while delivering support and encouragement to vulnerable children in the local community.

The visit formed an important part of her reign, demonstrating that Miss Africa Great Britain is about far more than winning a crown. Every queen is encouraged to use her platform to create a lasting positive impact through charitable work and community service.

Throughout her year as queen, Leila promoted education, empowerment, compassion and community engagement. Her visit to the orphanage reflected the values of kindness, leadership and social responsibility that continue to define Miss Africa Great Britain.

The organisation remains proud of the work undertaken by Leila and all former queens who continue to support communities across Africa and the United Kingdom long after their reigns have ended.
