20 year old University Student and model, Jacqueline Ilumoka, has been crowned Miss Black Africa UK2014. The londoner  beat 21other con testants to win thecrown.Jacqueline is in her final year at the University of Sussex studying Media and Communications. The event took place on Saturday, the 4thof October 2014at the Royal Regency Hall, London. The sold out event was hosted by ace comedian and Actor,Lateef Lovejoy(pounds to pocket advert) and Miss Black Africa UK2011, Ruvimbo Chinzou.



She said in her own words, “I am so excited about what lies ahead! It has been a gruelling 4months of preparation and hard work. I look forward to starting my charity project which is the main reason why I entered into the Miss Black Africa Pageant. I am very pas sionate about helping the less privileged and now I have the opportunity to do so on a larger scale. I thank all those that supported me throughout the journey as well as the organisation and judges that believed in me.”



Joanitha Ntangeki of Tanzania was 1stRunner up and Samrawit Tesema of Ethiopia was 2ndRunner up. The 20year old undergradu ate will now assume the responsibility of Ambassador of the Miss Black Africa — Queens4Africa project.



The judging Panel was made up of the host of the Sporah Show, Sporah Njau(Tanzania), Director of  Miss China — Bin Zhang (China), Founder of the ‘Against All Odds Charity’, Fikelephi Jackson(Zimbabwe), Founder of Positive Runway: Global Catwalk, Justina Mutale (Zambia).



The Miss Black Africa UKpageant was founded in 2011with the sole purpose of giving young African girls born or living in the United Kingdom a platform to showcase not only their beauty but most importantly their culture, talent and creativity. The pageant is highly competitive and seeks to bring out those leadership qualities in women. The winner becomes a goodwill ambassador for Miss Black Africa, charged with designing and implementing a charity program based on their Pageant Platform.



Entertainment on the night were from Dejhavu who had collaborated with the Late ‘Dagrin’ on the track ‘Wey Dem Dey’ and New Afrobeat Sensations, ‘Sweetboyz’.
